Rules:

Top Manager Prizes: The Group Stage Top Manager & Knockout Stage Top Manager prizes are given to the manager with the highest cumulative total for those stages, respectively. The Group Stage takes place over a 3-week span, and the Knockout Stage takes place over a 4-week span.

For each stage, we look at each of your contest entries and take the highest point total for each matchweek of the stage (e.g. Group Stage 1, Group Stage 2, etc.). Your highest point total is then added to the leaderboard for each successive matchweek within the given stage. At the end of the stage, the manager with the highest point total wins the grand prize.

Top Team Prizes: The Group Stage Top Team & Knockout Stage Top Team prizes are given to the manager with the highest single contest point total across the entirety of each respective stage. The Group Stage takes place over a 3-week span, and the Knockout Stage takes place over a 4-week span.

For each stage, we look at all of your contest entries and select the entry with the highest individual contest point total across all matchweeks in that stage. We then designate that as your top team. The manager with the highest performing top team for that stage wins that stage’s Top Team Prize.

Applicable Matchweeks:

Group Stage

  • Group Stage 1 (Nov. 20 - Nov. 24)

  • Group Stage 2 (Nov. 25 - Nov. 28)

  • Group Stage 3 (Nov. 29 - Dec. 2)

Knockout Stage

  • Round of 16 (Dec. 3 - Dec. 6)

  • Quarterfinals (Dec. 9 - Dec. 10)

  • Semifinals (Dec. 13 - Dec. 14)

  • *Final (Dec. 17 - Dec. 18)

*Final includes 3rd place match

Example:

Suppose CONTESTANT A joins the following contests and posts the following scores:

  • Group Stage 1

    • WC 5K Group Stage 1 Top Half - 100 points

    • WC 10K Group Stage 1 Head-to-Head - 120 points

    • WC 100K Group Stage 1 Open - 115 points

  • Group Stage 2

    • WC 2K Group Stage 2 Top Half - 97 points

    • WC 10K Group Stage 2 Shootout - 90 points

  • Group Stage 3

    • WC 20K Group Stage 3 Mini Shootout - 163 points

    • WC 50K Group Stage 3 Mini Shootout - 130 points

    • WC 100K Group Stage 3 Open - 110 points

For the Group Stage Top Manager Award, we add up the contest with the highest point totals for each matchweek. In this case, the total would be: 120 + 97 + 163 points, for a grand total of 380 points. These scores would then be added to the leaderboard at the end of each matchweek so that CONTESTANT A and other managers can track their performance against each other.

  • Note 1: We DO NOT add up all of the contest scores, only the highest score per matchweek (i.e. Group Stage 1, Group Stage 2, Group Stage 3).

  • Note 2: We DO NOT take all of the highest scores, only the highest score per matchweek. In this case, we would ignore the 130 points CONTESTANT A scored in the 50K WC Mini Shootout in Group Stage 3 because it was not the highest score for that matchweek. Instead, we would disregard the 130 point score and focus solely on the 163 points he scored in the 20K WC Mini Shootout.

  • Note 3: The scores listed here would ONLY count toward the Group Stage prizes. They would not count toward the Knockout Stage in this case because they took place during the Group Stage.

For the Group Stage Top Team Award, we take the highest overall contest score for any contest that took place during the 3-week WC Group Stages. In this case, the 163 points CONTESTANT A scored in the 20K WC Mini Shootout during Group Stage 3 would count as their “top team.”

  • Note: We DO NOT use a top team that was fielded before Group Stage 1 or after Group Stage 3. Only teams fielded during that span of time count for the group stages. The same logic applies to the Knockout Stages.

FAQ:

  • Question: If all of my highest scores are from the same matchweek, can all of them count toward the Top Manager prize?

    • Answer: No. Only the highest overall score is tallied per each matchweek.

  • Question: Does my high score from the week before the World Cup started count toward the Top Team prize?

    • Answer: No. Only scores tabulated through the 3 matchweeks of the Group Stage and the 4 matchweeks of the Knockout Stage count toward their respective prizes.
